These terms of use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the taxchecker.uk website and any services provided through it ("Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

TaxChecker is an independent UK-based service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to HMRC, His Majesty's Revenue and Customs, GOV.UK, or any government body.
2. Nature of the service
The Service provides:
- Calculators that mirror HMRC's published PAYE, tax code, and P800 calculation rules.
- Informational content about the UK tax system.
- Tools to help you review your own tax position.
The Service does not:
- Provide regulated financial or tax advice under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.
- Act as your tax agent with HMRC.
- Guarantee the accuracy of any figure generated. All calculations are provided for information only and must be verified with HMRC.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in any way that breaches applicable UK law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or any related systems.
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or overload the Service.
- Use the Service to impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
4. Accuracy of calculations
We take reasonable care to keep our calculation engine up to date with HMRC's published rules. However, tax rules change, errors can occur, and individual circumstances vary. We make no guarantee as to the completeness or accuracy of any output. You are responsible for verifying any figure against your own payslip and with HMRC before acting on it.
5. Intellectual property
All intellectual property in the Service, including design, code, copy, logos, and branding, is owned by TaxChecker or licensed to us. You may view and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TaxChecker is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service, including any loss of profit, loss of business, indirect or consequential loss, or loss resulting from reliance on any figure produced by the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
7. Third-party links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, including GOV.UK. We are not responsible for the content of third-party sites. A link does not imply endorsement.
8. Changes to the service
We may update, change, or withdraw features of the Service at any time. We will try to provide reasonable notice of material changes through the home page.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for breach of these Terms or for any other reasonable cause.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
